Anchor Point Films fills media niche
While serving as young Bible workers, Chad and Fadia Kreuzer recognized the influence that the media has on this generation.
People today are more likely to watch or listen than they are to read. As Chad and Fadia went door-to-door, talking with people and trying to identify their needs, they began to wish they had videos or DVDs to leave with people rather than books and pamphlets. Sensing a calling from the Lord to create films and documentaries that reflect and defend Biblical doctrines, they established Anchor Point Films and jumped head first into the world of film production.
They had no experience as filmmakers, "but I had plenty of experience in film," says Chad, who was not raised in an Adventist home. "I watched several hours of television a day growing up, so I had a vision of what people were used to seeing and what our films should look like."
Chad began to learn filmmaking technology on the fly, gaining skills as he pieced together documentaries on Bible prophecy, archaeology, and overcoming harmful habits and addictions. Recently, the Kreuzers were approached by Adventist Interfaith Initiative and asked to adapt several of their films to a Muslim audience, which they were glad to do.
The Kreuzers have been gratified to see laypersons using their films to reach people from all walks of life. Their films are generally well-received because, as Chad says, "people love documentaries."
Anchor Point Films has a display at the Adventist Interfaith Initiative booth in the General Conference exhibit hall in Atlanta. The Kreuzers will also be seminar presenters August 4–7, 2010, at the ASI International Convention in Orlando, Florida.
